Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Stuff and things!

Ok, terrible start.  Just turrible.

So how you all doing?  Figured I'd drop a line here, now that we're past the holidays and things have somewhat settled down a bit.  Latest bit of news from me...eh, still working, but I have started getting back into artwork, be it photomanipulation or flats on images.  Eventually I'll start putting highlights on things again.  Really need to, help knock the rust off and boost my art level.

Speaking of artwork, my project, the Femme Fatale's project, is moving forward again.  I know, finally, right?  Well, yes, finally, and you can check out what's being produced either by watching :iconzipdraw: or looking in my favorites gallery below

rbl-m1a2tanker.deviantart.com/…

Some other links you can check out, as I'm more active in other social media outlets, are the following:

And a fancy image  of TheGeekEZ podcast I'm on every Wednesday (barring any unforeseen difficulties), which, if you click on it (and can't really miss) will take you direct to the podcast facebook page.

Past episodes can be found here: holosuitemedia.com/home/geek-e…

Ok, that's a really big image...might have to fix that... @_@

I am still open for commissions, but to provide clarification: I can apply colors to linearts that other people have done, work on comic pages, or write up scripts or stories.  That's all I can do, and I want to make sure everyone knows it.  Don't want anyone to feel they were tricked by my low rates and think I also draw.  Nope, sorry, I don't do that.  Certainly not well enough to justify people paying for it.  So now ya know.

I'll probably edit this journal entry later. Cause that's how I roll.

¤§¤

Edit: Told ya I would edit this entry.  Made a nicer, and smaller, image for the podcast, at least for the time being until we work up something more usable...and can fit in next to the others.

Project Complete - New Projects?

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 20, 2016, 5:03 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Hi there.  Tank here, been awhile.  Figured I'd give you an update.

The project I was working on is complete, at least as far as my part goes.  Eventually I'll be cleared to show some of the pages done for it and start drumming up some interest.  And lemme tell you, seeing the finished pages...man it's pretty damn sweet.  Totally worth checking out, buying a couple books, that kinda thing.  I'll let you know when I have information as to where you can check it out and all that soon as I have.

In other news, now that the project is done for me, I am...contemplating a new project.  With the same artist for the previous work.  Right now there's some plotting and discussing going on, but there may be a pitch submitted to a publisher in the near-ish future.  Obviously I can't speak much about it now, since its in the very early stages, but I'm hoping it'll come about.

Other projects that I've been a part of, Crimson Blade, drawn by :iconzipdraw: is still moving forward, and I'm looking forward to when Episode II is complete for it.

For any other news, I don't have a lot more to go on.  I have a Facebook page if you want to check out stuff there, as well as a Tumblr page, as it's not a bad idea to have plenty of options available for showing things and getting interest.

Also, I'm a member of a podcast that runs every Wednesday called The GeekEZ, and have been for three years now (how time flies!), which you can follow at www.facebook.com/TheGeekEZ/, or you can listen to past podcasts at holosuitemedia.com/home/geek-e…

Hmm...oh yes, I'm still open for commissions, but if you want someone who can give you the full package of drawing, lineart and coloring, you should totally go to check out :iconcaptainlupin90:'s rates right ---->   HERE <-----

That's it at the moment.  Hope all is well with you, it's been a rough year overall for me, yet also productive, and ya just have to keep driving forward.

Just dropping a quick line to show that A) I am still alive, and B) wanted to wish everyone a happy fourth of July coming up this weekend.  I know that some of you aren't from the US, but hey, I can still wish ya a good 4th, right? :D

That's pretty much all I have at the moment.  The latest project that I've been on is almost at the halfway complete point, and when it is ready I'll start dropping some pages to show off (and kinda prove that I have been doing stuffs).

Anyways, have a Happy Fourth of July, and be safe!

Art and why I am not doing as much

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 16, 2016, 11:19 AM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

First, I hope you all had a fantastic set of holidays and a fun New Years!

Now that the dust from the old journal entry is cleared, let's get down to this one.

That title above is actually a little incorrect, but I’ll explain.  So for the past couple years, my output of finished images has been steadily dwindling.  Granted, I’m a guy with a wide variety of interests, and art is just one of them.  Still, I enjoy working on said artwork, and posting it to be seen.  I just like doing things like writing much more, so I do those more often, comparatively speaking.

I also feel I’m better at the writing aspect (your opinions may vary on that), so it’s just something I do more of than art.  Still, that doesn’t explain the decline in finished output.

Note I keep saying “finished.”  I’ve actually been doing a lot of stuff in the background, comic pages that I really can’t show right now.  Pages and pages of flats so as to speed up the overall production process for a comic.  And I believe it is right there that the answer to the decline is found.

Flats, or color separations, take a long time.  You wouldn’t think they would, but they do, especially on comic pages.  The more detailed it is, the longer it has the potential to take.  If the lines are very clean and there are no gaps, there are tricks you can use to speed things up, but if there is even a pixel width of a gap, then those tricks won’t work.  And you have to make sure that you get everything possible so that the highlights artist has a direction to go, or so he/she can quickly use a flood tool to change the color to something more appropriate.  It’s time consuming, and it requires a lot of focus and energy (or so I found).  So by the time you get done applying flats to one or two pages, you’re just wasted.  You’ve also spent anywhere from 4 hours to 10 or more to get them done.

After doing that for 24+ pages per comic issue (up to four issues now), you just don’t want to futz about with other works.  You don’t want to try to complete your own images.  And those other skills atrophy a bit due to lack of use, cause you just don’t want to do more right now.  It’s kind of similar to a burn out, but it’s also not.  Cause I could easily jump into working on finishing of the many that I have.  I just don’t feel a drive to do so, which is different from being burned out.  If I was burned out, I would, and have, instinctively felt myself recoil away from the very idea of the idea of doing X, Y or Z, or I would feel myself become disgusted with it.  IE, it becomes a very negative thing.  An example would be flying the Xwing VS TIE fighter game. I used to play somewhat competitively years ago (my stats on on Battlestats.com, in case you were curious) and I burned myself out on it.  To this day I can’t get myself to really want to play, even though the drive is sometimes there.  It’s gotten a lot better since the initial burn out, so I’m getting the sense that I could probably be talked into it.

I’m not burned out on doing artwork.  I’m just tired and don’t have the drive to want to complete them.

Now the good news here, is that the comic series I’ve been helping with is almost complete.  There’s just one issue left, and once my part is done, I can get back to doing my own stuff or more commissions and start showing off things again.

So if you’re following me for the arts and wondering where they are, I’ve been doing a lot...I just can’t show it yet.  But what I will be able to show, I should be getting back to it here in the next few months.  And it shall be pretty sweet.  :D

DeviantArtist Questionnaire thingamadoodad

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 8, 2015, 2:51 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Well, let's do this questionaire thing, shall we?

  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? On August 19th, 2015, I will have been here 11 years.

  2. What does your username mean? I was an M1A2 Abrams tank crewman from 1998-2000, and when I was off-duty I would play online flight sims like Xwing VS TIE Fighter and Xwing Alliance with a group called ReBeL Squadron (RBL for short).  so I had used a handle of RBL_M1A2Tanker with the group, and I've stuck with it since.

  3. Describe yourself in three words. I Am Groot

  4. Are you left or right handed? Right

  5. What was your first deviation? T80 at NTC by RBL-M1A2Tanker (I'm still stupidly proud of this photo)

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? coloring various works, but I imagine I'd get a real kick out of photography if I had the time and the funds to invest in the equipment for it. My camera is nice, but limited

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? I honestly have no idea.  Probably something involving drawing and/or coloring

  8. What was your first favourite? I have no idea.  The stats tool here doesn't exactly provide that detail.  And if I tried to dig thru my favorites gallery, I'd be here for days.  Seriously, there's 1318 pages for All favs!

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? Probably anime/comic/drawings.  Be my guess anyways.

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? You know how many people I watch?  I can't narrow 3,193 people to just ONE!

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? See above.  There's a lot of folks I'd love to meet, exchange ideas and talk shop in general.

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? Usually via improving my technique and skills.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art? Paint Shop Pro and a tablet.

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? Inspirational?  Being tied to a desktop computer by necessity, I'd have to say 'wherever the computer is.'  Though being in a recliner and working is might conducive to the process!

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? Can't say as I have a favorite memory.

Also....if you're still considering commissioning or donating to help out :harpyqueen:, please do!  She's almost to her goal, which is fantastic!  So last leg, help her out!

I'll just leave this here so you can follow it. :D

Artist help and Patreon thoughts

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 1, 2015, 9:03 PM

Help the Artist by Harpyqueen

In other news, I've contemplated trying out Patreon as a potential source of income.  Problem is, I'm not sure what I could offer that people would be willing to pay for.  When you're a colorist, you depend upon others to draw up the images so you can apply colors to them.  And as is well known, I have a fairly substantial stack of works to complete as it is, not to mention at least one comic project (maybe two) that need colors.  So that kind of puts a bit of a kink into the idea of offering up coloring of images for funds.

As a writer, I throw a bunch of text on a screen.  If it's a comic script, I then have to depend on someone to draw it up so that I can then apply colors.  Or someone else does.  If I’m writing a narrative story, then...that’s kinda boring in a way.  Sure, you’re paying for a short story or what have you, but it’s just text.  If I was working towards publishing, or had an ongoing story that people really were interested in seeing continued, then I could see that as a possibility, but as I don’t at this time, I don’t see how people would pay for short stories.  Either way, I'm not seeing how I can swing out some good rewards for patrons through this website for showing good faith in me in producing something via writing things up.

In short, I'm not sure what I could offer, based on my skills, that would make patrons feel they're getting their money's worth.  I have tons of ideas and concepts that I'd like to see drawn up, but again, that doesn't seem like something I could reasonably expect people to pay me money so I could then take it to another artist to create.  For example, the long waiting Femme Fatale's project.  That'd be something that would be great to get funded, but....I'm not sure people would want to help pay into that (that's almost a kickstarter thing anyways, if I was to try to do an outside funding deal versus a patreon route).

I suppose if I had a team of folks that would be a possible way, but that's putting a lot of heavy lifting on someone else, so really...they should be the ones to get the patreon site, not me.

So I posit the question to you guys.  If anyone out there has a patreon, what do you suggest I could look into doing?  Should I look into getting a team together? Is that even feasible from a financial and time management standpoint?

If you support a patreon, what would you want to see offered in exchange for your hard earned funds? What would make it worth it to you?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  It'll give me food for thought, and help in my consideration for going down this path or not.

Greetings everyone!

Well, everyone who checks this out I suppose.  Saw there was no response to my query about uploading linearts for people to practice their inking skills with.  So either the last journal was missed completely, or...there just is no interest.

Fair enough I suppose, why work on applying inks of some sort on someone else's work when you can do that to your own?

Well, it was worth asking.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained if one doesn't make the attempt in the first place.

Update and Linearts Galore

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 28, 2014, 8:46 PM

Current News

Greetings everyone!

Yea yea, I don't update these journals often.  I've been pretty significantly busy for the past several months with various different tasks.  Cutting down trees (and nearly getting flung by tree), having my nephews visit this summer, doing the job thing, and lots and LOTS of comic pages for Gregg Paulsen for his project, Ironclad.

See?  Ironclad! More sneak peaks will be shown soon.
Ironclad Pinup Image by RBL-M1A2Tanker Ironclad Image by RBL-M1A2Tanker

Also lots of other social activities with local friends, such as playing plenty of Xwing Miniatures Game stuff (so fun!) so that cuts into free time for art.  But that's what's been going on overall.

Now to my question for every one of you.  I have a whole bunch of commissioned lineart from various artists for the past several years.  Nearly a decade now actually, and not all of them are inked.

So, would you folks be interested in practicing your inking skills on them?

I already have the images that I'm going to color set up with flats already, or in the pile to be worked, so I'm not looking to get some free work done.  This is purely for the purposes of practicing your lineart skills on a variety of different characters.  Granted, if you already draw and ink, you probably don't need it, but maybe you'd like to try your hand on something completely out of the blue.  And I can assure you that I do indeed have a very wide variety of artists works that are just in pencil form.  Some were by a guy looking to make a few quick bucks, and others by some pretty talented artists making their mark with a fun, unique style.

If you're interested, post about it in the comments below.  If enough people express an interest, I will upload some choice images into a lineart folder for you to check out and do your best with.

And on that note...I return to work! AWAY!

Original Character shout out

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 2, 2014, 7:02 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Greetings everyone!

While I don't participate anymore in journal requests for shares/viewage sharing/tag backs and the like, there are instances where one can at the least provide some additional visibility to another artists work.

Take, for example, :iconbunnyvaltir:  Recently, she had posted a journal about spreading OC love (they should get rooms for that sort of thing I think), and ya know...while I'm not going to do the whole deal she is doing (but kudos to her for going forth with it!), I will say that you should check out her stuff.

Now, she has a dream.  It's not quite on the scale of MLK (whose is?) , but it's a good dream nonetheless.  Her dream is to produce a graphic novel, titled "The Shadowdancers."  To that end, she has created a significant cast of characters, such as...

<da:thumb id="392059918"/>

Valtirea Faye, a very short human ranger.  Who also happens to have been born blind.  This, in and of itself, adds a very unique set of circumstances.  A ranger who is well trained with bow and arrow by wood elves, but is blind.  Maybe a bit Daredevil-esque, but frankly, I think it makes things much more interesting.  It makes for a set of challenges that most characters typically don't have to deal with.  The art is a fun blend of a king of soft-gritty-glow feel that also adds to the uniqueness of the world being constructed.  And she's drawn cutely.  Not sexy (though she does have some aspect to that, in my opinion), and certainly not overly busty. She looks fit and practical.  Which makes sense for a Ranger to dress in practical attire, a nice change of pace from many a fantasy setting (I'm lookin at you, D&D).

Lots of nice little personalized touches are also added, such as the tree design of the belt buckle, and the well thought out summary of her backstory.  All in all, it's a well crafted creation...and this is but one character out of several.

Granted, I focused on her cause I found her cute (what can I say? While I don't mind male characters, I'm going to gravitate to the female ones first cause they are much more interesting ;p ), but going deeper reveals much more than what you see up front.

So give her stuff a look over.  Give some commentary on the characters and artwork, or at the least say "hello." Who knows?  You might just find you want to know more about this story of an Elvish man on a journey with destiny in a a sci-fi-fantasy future world.

New Year, New Journal Entry

Journal Entry: Sat May 11, 2013, 9:15 PM

Current News

Greetings everyone!

So I'm slow to the whole 'it's a new year' journals thing.  Can't help it, I tend to keep pretty busy.  :faint:

For example...I was helping a local artist here on processing the flats on a few pages for his comic book.  When that's published, I'll post the pages I worked on here.  It's pretty good stuff though.  Look up Gregg Paulsen, mighty good artworks. :D

Plus working commissions, which are now full, for the time being.

That's a first. O_O

Anyways, that's all I have at the moment.  Back to the stone grind! Er, grindstone!  Happy New Year, Happy Valentines Day and Happy Saint Patty's Day! Oh yea, covering all bases here. ;p

Call for Volunteers for CrimsonBlade

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 28, 2013, 4:23 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Greetings everyone!

So progress is being made on the Crimson Blade comic front.  As a refresher, this is a comic that is headed up by series creator :iconzipdraw:, with myself and :iconalastorzingari: as plotters, writers, editors, and color flatters.

But in order to meet deadlines and such, we're going to need some volunteers to help apply flat colors.  Here's the official line posted on the Crimson Blade FB page.

"What up Ninjaz?

It's been a long while since there's been any updates. Lotta things going on (one of which involved a massive ninja battle with evil kung-fu Ronald McDonald clones...you know how it is), but things are calmin down now. You know what that means? It means Zip gets back to CrimsonBlade!

So here's the scoop: several pages for Episode One/Issue One are now given the full lineart treatment, and now they need some snazzy ninja colors thrown on there. Specifically, the flat colors. Here's where we go to you guys.

We need volunteers to be Flat Ninjas! If you have the time to work on applying flat colors to a comic page or two, and if you have experience working with layers and lineart, either through GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact, Photoshop, or another graphics program of your choice, we want to see examples of your Flats work.

Now, we're looking for experienced flatters first, but if you have not done such work before and are willing to give it a shot, here's a lineart image for you to test your skills on. We will even show you how to do so. zipdraw.deviantart.com/art/For…

Should we like the work you do, you'll get a random page to work on, as well as a color palette to get the right colors. You'll also be given a credit in the book, along with all your other Flat Ninjas. No money is involved at this time, but we're working up a worthy compensation for those who stick with us and help out. So if you're in it for the money...well, for right now, we can't do that. YET. So that's why we're asking for volunteers, and we're laying it out up front. We definitely need help to speed things up and meet some deadlines (sssshhh...can't say yet! :P )

So if you want in, drop a line here with some examples of your flat colors work (or use the lineart provided above to show off your leet Ninja skills!), and we'll see what we can do!

Until then...PEACE!"

That's the long and short of it.  You want in, let's see some examples of your comic work, specifically the flat colors.  You want to give it a try, grab Guile up there and give it a shot.  There will be compensation, just not in the form of a paycheck at this time.  If this really takes off, then that will certainly change.

Until then, if you want to get your name in a comic book and have some spare time...let's see what you can do.  Drop a line with me, :iconalastorzingari: or :iconzipdraw: with your example and we'll go from there.

Cheers!

Current News

Moving along, cause we've got Easter coming up, and Saint Patty's Day somewhere in there...around there...over there?  Somewhere!

Anyways, what's up on this front?  Stuff.  Change in job soon, possibly good or bad (yet to be determined).  But in the meantime, I now have a massively more powerful machine than the laptop I had gone with for the past few years.

It's a beast, and I'm glad to have it.  My recommendation to you all: if you can, get a machine with a solid-state drive.  It's totally worth it, and is amazingly fast to turn on your machine, much less run things.  It's mind boggling the difference.

But now that I have this new machine, I'm branching out into other art formats.  DaZ Studio, Sculptris, just for a couple examples.  Also will be doing some videos in the near-ish future, as part of the Shaven Wookiee Cantina's work with The Old Republic MMO.  More details to come on that.  Plus more artwork in general.  So the plan goes at any rate.

So you might be hearing a lot more from me soon.  Enough to drive you nuts perhaps. ;p

Cheers!

Year in Review and Announcement

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 27, 2012, 8:58 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

Let's get rid of that rather drab and gloomy journal entry, shall we?  And thanks once again to those who commented.  I appreciated it and it lifted my spirits. :)

So since things are going to be busy for the next several weeks, I'll just do a little bullet list here of things, those that I look forward to and looking back on.

Looking Forward

1 - Looking forward to going to Arizona for a few days to visit family and make some hiking staffs for them as Christmas presents
2 - Looking forward to The Hobbit.  Big time. :D
3 - Only 12 more actual working days, the rest will be paid time off (it's nice to get to use it, wish I had the whole month off but I'll take what I can get!)
4 - Femme Fatales!  Yea, I know, it's been hinted at as coming soon, but it'll happen.  Just might be a next year project, we'll see.
5 - Found out I have an excellent credit score and that I could certainly purchase a house!  That's a definite win right there.  Now to see about getting a better paying position...:plotting:

Looking Back

1 - My artwork does seem to have improved, even if my output has not gone up at all.  Well, my output of completed work hasn't, the amount of flats work has gone up.
2 - Writing as prolifically as ever...just not much to show for it yet.  ^^;
3 - To-Do list is also as prolific as ever.  >.<
4 - Once again ended up on online radio, and as an audio engineer.  Crazy I tells ya.
5 - Met some folks and struck up some good conversations with'em.  May have driven others crazy though.  Not my best moments if that's the case.

And now for the Announcement bit.  I think it's safe to say I can admit to this by this point.

I, along with :iconalastorzingari:, am a writer and editor for Crimson Blade, with :iconzipdraw: as the Project Manager and Director.  We're still fleshing things out, but as it is currently, we have two issues fully written, and issue one (or Episode I) is currently being sketched up.  The goal is currently to have a release date of March of 2013 for the first issue.  We're looking to have some fun items to offer and some bonuses, so keep watching and check out Crimson Blade on Facebook, which you can see here: www.facebook.com/pages/Crimson… and if you're on FB, you should totally LIKE it, for that's where the updates are!

There might be another announcement down the road, but for now, that's the biggest one.  So while I still feel a bit bummed on a few things, there's some good things coming or lined up.

So if I don't write another journal this year, let me say now, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Also...commissions are still open! ;p

Busy, and a Dark Mood hovers near...

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 13, 2012, 8:03 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Current News

I don't write these things often do I?  Last one was in September.  Oh, right, nobody really comments on them anyways.  Probably why I don't write them.

Well, what's up here.  Holidays coming up again.  Lots of vacation time coming to go with it, which is great.  Femme Fatales is still in line to be done, just suddenly pushed back due to older brother shipping out to Afghanistan, so I paid him a visit, and bought tickets to go fly to see my nephews.  Going to make some hiking staffs for them for Christmas, so I'm looking forward to that.

Still working full time, which is always a plus.  Not very content with the job (which isn't unusual at all, and something I've mentioned before), but it pays the bills at least, so that's better than no job at all.

Working out regularly, and my energy level is improving slowly but surely.  Weight isn't going down quite that much yet, but I'm feeling a slow and steady improvement, so I'll take it.

Been doing artwork and writing steadily, just not near as much as I would prefer.  If I only had more time during the days...or rather, if I didn't have to work 40 hour work weeks.  Yea, I know, there's people working two jobs and putting in something like 80 hour work weeks, but to put things into perspective, I'm ALWAYS working on something, it's just that those 40 hours in a week are the only things paying my bills.  That, and the extra hour and a half I take to donate plasma for cash.  I either have artwork, writing, plotting stories, discussions, online radio show (Shaven Wookiee Cantina on Holosuite Media on Saturdays, audio engineer work on Sundays...if I was paid to do all these things, man I'd be rockin the bank. :p

Still working as a Fighting Flatsman for :iconadamwithers: and :iconcomfortlove:.  Also picked up a couple other gigs that will be announced sometime down the road, it's pretty sweet stuff, but going to keep it under wraps until things have developed further.

Also have a tumblr, and a secondary one (which is the more important one here): It's called Jedi Communiques, and it's based on a similar prinicple as "Memos from Fury."  Check it out if you like.  jedicommuniques.tumblr.com/

As for the subject line...yea, just feeling this dark mood creeping the hell up on me.  It's been poking its head around corners here and there, even though I tend to kick it in the face down a block or two when it shows up.

I'm not chronically depressed, or depressed in general.  Or at least I don't believe myself to be.  Just a mixture of annoyed, frustrated, disappointed.  Vast majority of it aimed right at yours truly.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it's been...ooooh....over 8 years now since I last had a successful date. Hell, the last real significant relationship I had turned out to have been built falsely, and that cut pretty deeply.  Very serious burn.  Lately, I've met some women, and we hang out, but romantic involvement?  Quite thin on the ground, not for lack of trying.  I just have absolutely no success.  Don't even get a sense of interest from the ones I'M interested in.

All I can think of is that there's something about me that drives folks away.  Too nice, come on too strong, I really have no idea.  Best I can figure is that I simply don't know how to play the game, can't pick up on signals, just too inexperienced to be that subtle...something along those lines.  And I don't know how to learn that doesn't make me have to basically play something I'm not to get anywhere.  Regardless, it's likely affecting my emotional state some I suppose, or how I interact with some folks.  Granted, some recent interactions that had suddenly cut off I just might be oversensitive about, but really, you all should know there's that little voice in the back of your head that goes, "But what if it's not..."

Sometimes I simply feel it's best to just forget it.  I'm flawed somehow, might as well just resign myself to being single the rest of my days, and move on, accepting I'm a failure of a man (or something like that).

That is kinda depressing, when you think about it, isn't it? Here, I'll up your depression level...next month I turn 33. How's that work for ya? ;p

And before anyone says, "Just get out of the house, go meet people, go to bars/clubs/etc," I will tell you right now that you will never find a more uncomfortable person in those places than I because I can't drink alcohol, and you can't hold a decent conversation with someone.  Someone gives me that above advice and I'm as likely to rip your face off with a rusty rake with the mood I'm in, so let's not get into that, as I'm pretty sure most medical insurance claims don't cover 'ripped off face by rusty rake' situations.

tl;dr version: been keeping busy, feeling grumpy, wanna get some lovin and it ain't happening and I seem to drive women away, so screw it, might as well forget about it.

Thanks for reading and such.  Hopefully I'll have a more interesting and upbeat journal next time around.

Until then...have a Happy Thanksgiving.

As the subject line states, I could use a hand with something.

I'm looking to find a tutorial that gives one a tone to their images similar to this image:

Rogue Squadron Pilot by Dominic-Marco

However, I have been singularly unable to locate a tutorial that gives some details on the method.  I'm fairly positive I'm on the right track towards it, I'm just not sure just what it is I am missing.

So any assistance that folks can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Now here's another artist you should commission.  Great prices, and this fella has a strong attention to detail.  He will work with you and make it happen, for good prices.  Check them out!  lordtrekie.deviantart.com/jour…

Edit: Ok, seriously, go check out this artist.  She's dropped her price, and you can, for $5, get a thigh-high image of a character drawn up.  It's $5.  Totally hit her up.

Hey folks, if you're looking for good art work that won't break the bank, and want it of your OC in a sexy bikini, well go hit up :iconrararothsbergh:.  She's offering $5 commissions, and it's for a good cause (you help her stay in her apartment!).  So with the power of my sexy salesman voice, head on over to her journal and get a fantastic looking bikini babe...or guy (if you wanna blow some minds ;p )

Details here!:  raraangel.deviantart.com/journ…

So head on over to both of them!  Or this dude gets it!

Femme Fatales Running List

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 15, 2012, 9:28 PM

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, grease-covered, dirty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do in an day.

Dunno if any of you were paying attention to my big projects list of 2012 and on, but I've decided to get started on it.  It may very well take all year to complete, dunno, but there's no rush here.

Still, folks may wish to see the list and who's been completed so far.  Well, this will be the running list, or tally, of characters on the list and those that are completed.  Also organized in the groups that they will be drawn up in, so group 1, 2, 3 and so on.  The groups are subject to change, outside of those already completed, and the final collage image will probably not have any groupings as shown here.  Either way, this is the list.

All images are to be drawn up by :iconzipdraw:  Go give him some attention, he responds quite well to it. :D
